t-shirt

My mother suffers from a chronic inability to throw anything away. Her house always looks neat but opening cupboards is risky due to the danger of mountains of random stuff falling on your head. The best example of her hoarding I can think of came up at a bbq a few years ago. She was handing out paper napkins with a very retro seventies design on them. I asked her where she had got them from and was told they were leftovers from her engagement party. My parents have been married for 32 years.

I do understand where she is coming from and also find it hard to let go of things. My own style is to slowly build up piles of stuff then go through massive clean outs every few months. I move a lot which is a pretty good deterent to hoarding and try to follow the rule of something new comes in, something old goes out. When it's something I don't need but aren't prepared to give up quite yet, I try to find another use for it; hence the t-shirt above which has various shinypretty things attached.
